Kulasekhara Azhvaar's paasuram on Uraiyur

In several of the Paasurams the saint poets Azhvaars have made detailed references to the Divya Desams. However, in a few of them, they make only a passing mention of the temple.

Uraiyur is one such, where Kulasekara Azhvaar makes only a passing mention as seen in the below Paasuram (667).

“Alli Maa Malar Mangai Naathan Arangan Meiyadiyaarkaltham
Ellai Yil Adimaith Thirathinil Enrum Mevu Manathanaam
Kolli Kaavalan Koodal Naayakan, Kozhi Kon Kulasekaran
Sollin In Tamizh Maalai Vallavar Thondar Thondarkal Aavarey”

Those who read the beautiful verses of the pure hearted, the ruler of Kolli, the king of Koodal and the head of Uraiyur -Kulasekhara Azhvaar- praising the Goddess and Lord Ranganatha will be the true devotees of the Lord.
